Hello beautiful people [to those who've read my blog before and those who haven't!] I'm totally stoked for this year's LoveAThon! I was part of last year's and it was honestly one of the most rewarding moments in the year to be able to talk to fellow bloggers [some of which I didn't know previously!]
I'm deciding not to do challenges this year. I'm not really that type of person and I'd really like to take the time to just spread love! That being said, I posted the questionaire so you can get to know me. I'll also be around the blogosphere, commenting on posts!
What’s your name?
My name is Nova.Where in the world are you blogging from?
I'm from the humble city of Toronto in Canda. How did you get into blogging in the first place?
One of my friends and I had the idea to start a book blog. It's actually still up somewhere because she never took it down. While the idea ended up going down in flames, I was inspired to create my own. It took me maybe two years to get SERIOUS about blogging but once I did, I can't imagine doing anything else. How did you come up with your blog name?
This may quite possibly be my favorite question. My blog name is not specifically bookish, which some people pick up on. From the header, you also see music notes [because music is life, obviously.] Anyway, Out of Time talks about my nasty TBR pile. "Too many books and I'm out of time" is what inspired me.It also talks about being out of tempo in a musical sense.
What genre do you read and review the most on your blog?
I read YA only. I love every genre but I love fantasy and historical fiction a little less than the others. Oops! What other types of posts do you do on your blog, apart from reviews?
I do song reviews, sarcastic lists [which are called Mandatory Rules On], comparing books with songs [Novel Melodies], rants and discussions!Best blogging experience so far?
Discovering Twitter and going insane on it! Seriously, in like the first month, I was up 11k tweets. Plus, twitter is really what got me "known."Favorite thing about the blogging community?
No one [I know] cares about age differences! I have friends who are thirty and I have friends who are thirteen. We're all just trying to spread love for books!Name the 5 books you’re most excited for this 2015!
Hotel Ruby - Suzanne Young, Winter - Marissa Meyer, I'll Meet You There - Heather Demetrios, Six of Crows - Leigh Bardugo and Ice Like Fire - Sara Raasch![Oh my gosh, it was SO HARD to pick these.]
What’s an underrated book or series that you think everyone should read?
There's this book I read in 2013 [I think] that was originally called Secret for a Song. Now, it's published under "One Last Song" and holy shizzles, that book just about BROKE ME.Which book boy or girl would be your book BFF?
My book BFF? Oh, I've never really given much thought to that. HMMMMM... How about Caymen from The Distance Between Us [Kasie West]? I LOVE her personality!Apart from reading, what are your other hobbies or interests?
Music, mainly! I've played piano for nine years and counting [although I'm not as good as I'd like to be.] I also play clarinet for school for four years and counting! It's so much fun to play with a band. Lastly, I sing but I don't take lessons. Singing is just a lot of fun!Besides music, I'm also really interested in writing. I've been posting on wattpad and the feedback I'm receiving is AMAZING. Like "whoa, you guys actually like the thi
Apart from book shopping, what else do you like shopping for?
Um... I don't buy books. Eep! I feel like the only blogger but it's true. I'm not really good with the whole money situation so books are an occasional thing. However, I do like [occasionally] shopping for Target brand makeup!
At a party, the DJ suddenly changes the song – and it’s your song. What song would be playing?
Don't judge me, but the song would have to be Habits by Tove Lo. When I first heard it, I was like "THIS IS MY SONG" even though it's got a not-so-good message. That or Uma Thurman by Fall Out Boy. I think that's so danceable!
[Extra note: I WOULD choose Taylor Swift, but since I heard that everyone else is doing it, I figured, let's be a bit different. BUT GUYS. WILDEST DREAMS IS <33333]
Pick out either a book you want turned into a film/TV show, or a film/TV show you want turned into a book.
I totally want the Grisha trilogy as a movie. I have NO IDEA how that would work, but if it could happen, I WOULD CRY OF HAPPINESS.So that's all, my fabulous friends! And even if you don't know me, I consider you a friend. *waves*
Remember that you are loved. You are appreciated. And that this community would not be the same without you. If you are new and feel alone, reach out to us. No one is as scary as they seem, even though some bloggers seem SO INTIMIDATING! This is a chance to make new friends, make someone's day and just be kind.

Aw man. I read historical fantasy and fiction a little more than other genres.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for Winter and Ice Like Fire. From the previous books, they both promise to be amazing.
You have a Wattpad account? I don't have one, but I occasionally read things on Wattpad. Where's your account?
I discovered the awesomeness that is Twitter a couple of months ago, and I should probably tweet more often. I always like finding out what instruments people play! I play the flute, and an extremely limited amount of piano. I'm really hoping to read The Distance Between Us Soon, I've heard so mnay good things and it's been on my Nook for a while!
ReplyDeleteNova is such a cool name :)
ReplyDeleteFun explanation behind your blog name.
I discovered Twitter very late. I had my account for a year and suddenly I decided I was going to be more active.. Before you know it you are sucked in that hole with no escape.
I definitely understand the feeling of never being able to read all the books in your TBR. Yay for the Lunar Chronicles!!! I absolutely love this series. Yay for music! I love to sing. The Grisha trilogy as a movie would be absolutely amazing. Oh my gosh. Awesome post!
ReplyDeleteNova, I loved reading through your answers! I'll Meet You There is AMAZING, and I can't wait to read Hotel Ruby and Winter when they come out later this year. Oh, and Taylor Swift forever and ever :)

UM NOVA, HOW DID I NOT KNOW WE'RE FROM THE SAME CITY??? UM WHAT???
ReplyDeleteAnd ditto to the singing. I'm not good by any means but decent enough to hold a tune and have fun with it. ALSO YAS TAYLOR SWIFT and Tove Lo. Have you heard Not On Drugs? Because that's the only one I've heard besides Habits and I really love it as well.
You, Me and Samantha HAVE to meet up, alrighty? I'm TECHNICALLY from Sauga but it isn't that far :P
DeleteI love the ENTIRE Queen of the Clouds Album from her. Not on Drugs is great but my personal faves are Talking Body, Thousand Miles, My Gun and Not Made for this World.
