Considering I started seriously blogging this June, there are a LOT of things that have happened to me... It's kind of awesome, actually. These are 5 things that would've never happened if I hadn't started blogging!
- Twitter
I started using Twitter as a way to promo my blog, but it soon became something that I found myself addicted to. On twitter, I made a bunch of friends, joined parties while actually promo-ing my blog without even knowing it! Overall, Twitter has really only ever benefitted me. - Signings
Obviously, I knew what "signings" were before blogging. However, I didn't know about the author signings or how close they were to me. Where I live, I don't get very many signings, but I do get some. Because of blogging, I've been to to signings since last January. The first one was the Marissa Meyer one and I went as a reader. I got my books signed and a picture. The second signing, I went to as a blogger. I met fellow bloggers and talked to them. It was a lot more fun because I could go and be like "hey, fellow blogger!" - ARCs
I knew what ARCs were because my classroom got them. We would get a few boxes from Scholastic during the seasons, so I knew that. But I didn't know how big of a deal ARCs were and how many scream-inducing memories I'd have with them. I got my first ARC package from S&S and it was True by Hilary Duff. The first ARC I got that I requested was How to Love by Katie Cotugno! I've been very lucky with my ARCs for some reason, so that's definitely something that's very eventful that's happened this year. - Photoshop
I didn't even know I had Photoshop Elements 9 installed on my computer until one day I had to make graphics for my blog. My blog is solely made of my graphics with images from Google. Which is why in a few days time, there will be a new design (because I obviously don't know how to design a blog). For now, I'm sticking to small graphics and labels. My signature and buttons are all mine and they're really pretty so yeahhh.. - Tea Time
Don't know what Tea Time is? Google it! I started joining TeaTime during the #ARCParty in July. I thought it was super fun and I ended up winning an ARC too! So when they started Spreecast, I ended up being a face pulled up on the first time... WHAT?! It was so cool and I was super nervous; especially because I was able to talk to Jodi Meadows in front of a 100 people! And then I was up on screen again to discuss Divergent which was so cool! I also had my name read a few times, so *dies* it's a pretty Cloud 9 situation.
I haven't been luck enough to go to any signings yet but they sound like loads of fun! You got a package from S&S? Too cool! Ah, yes, I LOVE Tea Time. Sadly, I can't watch it anymore because of my work hours but it is definitely amazingly fun and cool! And, twitter, oh my word. I'm on twitter way too much.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all the growth this year, Nova!
"I started using Twitter as a way to promo my blog, but it soon became something that I found myself addicted to." THIS. I am the exact same way now. Lol I am the same with Photoshop too! Couldn't imagine blogging without Photoshop now :)
