Unraveling is one of those books that's been sitting on my shelf, begging [along with all the other billions of books] to be read. I can only say that now, after reading, I am kicking myself for not reading this sooner.
When I first met the character, I was pretty neutral about it. This doesn't usually happen as I either lean one way or the other. With Janelle, I didn't feel anything at first. And then after a chain of events happened, I saw the way Janelle dealt with happiness, tragedy and confusion and I liked her. Genuinely.
Ben, the male lead, is another story. I instantly fell in love with his character when he first talked and my love only grew stronger as this novel progressed. [And you should know that it isn't a short novel, haha!]
The writing was really great, even though it did get slow in some parts. There's a lot that needs to be explained in Norris' storyline. I really loved the quick lines that the characters delivered and how the story left a mark on my mind even after twelve hours of finishing it.
This book also gave me a lot of feels. To me, feels are one of the most important things in a book. There were so many twists and turns and I just got left in the dark until the bomb dropped [puns for those who've read it] I laughed a lot, cried a lot and at one point, even yelled out because the things that happened BROKE me!
The only thing that didn't agree with me as much as I wanted to was how the plot completely did a 180. In the beginning, it seemed sort of clear. When suddenly, a bunch of science terms were introduced and the plot took a different course. The change in plans threw me off and confused me for a bit of the story. It isn't something that hindered my reading but it did make me have to read a little more carefully to fully understand.
Overall, it's a great story, FULL of feels and I'm really excited to get the sequel [after that HEARTBREAKING ending!]

This was a pretty good read I read it not so long ago, too. I don't think I loved it as much as the initial hype but it was def exciting and unique! Glad you liked it, Nova! :)
