Winning what you want may cost you everything you love As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions. One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin. But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined. Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.
Can I just say how buzzed I am for this book? A lot of people I know are getting it and I'm hearing NOTHING but positive reviews. Everyone's been telling me how good it is. I don't typically read books with this topic, but I feel like when I read it, the story is going to be bigger than what's written in the synopsi! I'm told I'm getting an eCopy which I'm pumped about! This story looks so cool and that cover is so eerily awesome and I can draw so many conclusions.
Before I fangirl anymore, I'm just going to go. If you've read the book, TELL ME ABOUT IT in a totally non-spoilery way!

Ugh I'm so jealous you're getting an ebook because this one looks SO good and I've heard nothing but fantastic reviews for it. And I read The Shadow Society and it was a book that I seriously seriously loved, so hopefully this one's even better.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for this one, too! I've heard such amazing things about it from all of my trusted blogger friends.
