Album: Title
Release Date: September 6th, 2013
Record Label: Parlophone

"Atlas"

Some saw the sun
Some saw the smoke
Some heard the gun
Some bent the bow

Sometimes the wire must tense for the note
Caught in the fire, say oh
We're about to explode

Carry your world, I'll carry your world
Carry your world, I'll carry your world

Some far away
Some search for gold
Some dragon to slay
Heaven we hope is just up the road

Show me the way, lord, 'cause I... I'm about to explode

Carry your world, I'll carry your world
Carry your world, I'll carry your world

Carry your world, and all your hurt.

(Carry your world, carry your world)

My Thoughts

I don't know why, but I loved this song so much. It was for Hunger Games: Catching Fire and after watching it, I realize how much this song relates to book. The tune was dark and creepy while very emotional, even though the singer had such a deep (and almost dull sounding) voice. In a way, it sounded like whispering, rather than singing because it was so low.

I recognize Coldplay's style in this song. It's very similar to their X&Y album with slow verses and the chorus picking things up. This wouldn't be a song I'd sing, personally, because I like to sing songs that are a bit louder with more to them. However, this is beautiful in its own way.

It makes me feel in a "nagging" sense but not major feeling. I guess that's a start. I kept picturing District 12 burning, even though it wasn't shown in the book. Wow, that had a lot to do with my feelings because of how I kept going back to what the words really meant to me. It left a lot to be interpreted (even though there were very little lyrics; another of Coldplay's signatures) and I think that I was pretty good with what I thought.
