Album:  If You Leave
Release Date: April 30th, 2013
Record Label: Glassnote Entertainment Group LLC

"Human"Woken up like an animal
Teeth ready for sinking
My mind's lost in bleak vision
I tried to escape but keep sinking

Limbs lost to a dead wait steak
Skull cage like a prison
And he has lost faith to ever see again
So may he once taught of me then

Underneath the skin there's a human
Buried deep within there's a human
And despite everything I'm still human
But I think I'm dying here

Waking up like an animal
I'm all ready for healing
My mind's lost with nightmares streaming
Waking up (kicking screaming)

Take me out of this place I'm in
Break me out of this shale case I'm in

Underneath the skin there's a human
Buried deep within there's a human
And despite everything I'm still human

I think that I'm still human [x3]

Underneath the skin there's a human
Buried deep within there's a human
And despite everything I'm still human
But I think I'm dying here
If you guys haven't noticed yet, I listen to EVERYTHING music-wise. I don't have a particular genre I always stick to, like I do with YA.Anyway, this is a band that I was first introduced to by my friend (and also blogger) June @ Sunshine Fiction Reviews! After I listened, I was like "this singer has such a breathtakingly beautiful voice". Their style is more of the sad/mellow sound, rather than happy.

I've said this on twitter, but whenever I listen to Daughter, I instantly have ideas for new drawings. I also (sometimes) get little urges to get a tattoo, even though I know I don't want one. The lyrics are just so meaningful and sound even a bit like poetry. I think it's the "underneath this skin, there is a human" lyric that really gave me an idea of a tattoo. I mean, that tattooed on your body would actually REALLY make sense, right??

Now what I didn't like? I felt like the tune was kind of flat and lacking. I know some people like it, but for me, I like dramatic music with exaggerated highs and lows. Like the Lana Del Rey stuff? Nope. Not for me. I also don't like how the chorus was repeated again and again. Surely, they could've written something a bit more original. Or even tweaked the tune a little bit to make it a bit more exaggerated?
