The Blogger Aesthetic Guessing Game #1

A while back, I tweeted asking if people wanted me to make them an aesthetic for their blog. I was overwhelmed with the amount of replies [like 44!] and set to work. After making like ten, I can say that I definitely have a system going on and while this isn't a "how-to" post, I'll definitely make one in the future. I also did run a poll and got lots of people asking for a "how to" post.

If you're reading this going, "what the heck is an aesthetic?" don't worry, I have you covered. While I'm not the best at explaining this, I hope it's clear enough. There were people asking me what I was going on about [those people... oddly still wanted an aesthetic despite not knowing what is it. Guys, what if it's code for "punch you in the face"? What then?]

blogger aesthetic : the way i create them is an 8 paneled picture collage embodying a certain theme using anything like similar topics, similar colors or based around one general idea. aesthetic in general just means beauty so think of it as me taking the best parts of you and your blog and turning it into an image. notice that this entire definition is written in lowercase? that's part of the aesthetic. although, i really dislike doing that for full blog posts so i'm about to switch....

If that wasn't clear at all, have no fear! I'm going to be using an example and then you are going to play a rad guessing game to test your knowledge of bloggers, my accuracy on these aesthetics and to meet some new bloggers you may not have known. My aesthetics actually did cause two of my faves to meet each other and I felt like such a wizard, haha.

The way my aesthetics work:

My guessing game doesn't really give good clues so I'm going to do a few explanations right here.

Guess this blogger! Just kidding - it's me. When it comes to blogger/blog aesthetics, it can be really hard to create some of these. I've come to realize that a lot of blogs are fond of purple and any blog that has more than two main colors, kills me in terms of finding images. All the complaining aside [I swear, I love doing this], the color scheme is determined by a blogger's blog design. The images, however, are based on their personality and interests. For example, I have an interest in travelling, music, starry stuff and my queen, Halsey. Writing and reading are kind of a given and I'm pretty sure every blogger's has something to do with books. And when you look at the color scheme of this aesthetic, hopefully it reminds you of me.

• This is a blogger I only recently met. 
• Her name is in this picture somewhere.
• She likes history and psychology.

Blogger #2 - Alyssa @ The Devil Orders Takeout

• Most of this blogger's photos are from her pinterest.
• At least half of these pictures are more in relation to her novel, than herself.

Blogger #3 - Liran @ Empress of Books

• The love that split the nails.
• Me and this blogger were talking about how her aesthetic was going to be mostly black. I joked that I would put pink in there somewhere - not a joke.

Blogger #4 - Tessa @ Crazy For YA

• This blogger goes by a beloved character's name as an alias for blogging.
• I actually messed up this aesthetic a little... the blog is peach and blue, but mainly peach and I did mainly blue.
• No but seriously, one picture in this aesthetic should be a dead giveaway.

Blogger #5 - Emily @ Loony Literate

• The type of flowers is this blogger's favorite. It's also part of the title to her novel.
• The Harry Potter reference directly relates to the blog.

Blogger #6 - Topaz @ Six Impossible Things

• One of my favorite bloggers ever who writes beautiful poetry.
• The fact that she's blogger #6 relates to her/her blog in some way [kind of a big way...?]
• Her full name is in the picture somewhere. I thought I was so clever with this.

Blogger #7 - Alex @ Fiery Reads

• Possibly my favorite aesthetic because the blog design isn't a cool color. 
• The blog's name directly relates to the color scheme in some way.
• Interests include field hockey and the blogger likes to watch TV but the real clue again, is in the color scheme.

Blogger # 8 - Aneeqah @ Writing Hustle/My Not So Real Life

 

• One of my bullet journalling friends!
• This girl is a great editor and along with a book blog, she also has a writing blog.
• One of these pictures on the right side relates to the name of her book blog.

Blogger #9 - Emily @ Forever Literary

• This blogger loves to learn: specifically.
• She's obsessed with English culture.
• Loves maps.
• Shares the name of one of the previous bloggers in this guessing game.

Blogger #10 -

• This was the first aesthetic I ever made. That's why the sizing is so messed up - I didn't really know what I was doing.
• This blogger is also a popular instagrammer with a lovely feed.
• This isn't even an exaggeration of how well put this girl's aesthetic is.
