"Ex's & Oh's"

Well, I had me a boy, turned him into a man
I showed him all the things that he didn't understand
Whoa, and then I let him go
Now, there's one in California who's been cursing my name
'Cause I found me a better lover in the UK
Hey, hey, until I made my getaway

[Prechorus]
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
'Cause I'm the best baby that they never gotta keep
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

[Chorus]
Ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go
Ex's and oh's

I had a summer lover down in New Orleans
Kept him warm in the winter, left him frozen in the spring
My, my, how the seasons go by
I get high, and I love to get low
So the hearts keep breaking, and the heads just roll
You know that's how the story goes

[PreChorus]

[Chorus x2]

One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
Coming over mountains and a-sailing over seas
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

[Chorus x2]

Ex's and Oh's is the first song I've heard from Elle King and I really enjoyed it! The first time I heard it, I wasn't too sure so I decided to listen to it again. The second time, I was completely hooked.

First off, her voice is not generic at all. And that's something that's pretty important to me when I'm looking for new music. I don't even know how to describe her voice. It's just awesome!
Next, the beat of the song is really catchy. I'm humming the tune on my walk to school and loving it. This is a song where I just want to get up and dance. There's good use of Elle's raspy voice paired with the electric guitar [plus, with the semi high notes, you can really hear her voice shine.]

I'll definitely be listening to the rest of the album after hearing Ex's and Oh's. Plus, the song reminds me of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
