In other news, I met Sam from Bookish Serendipity and she is seriously the cutest and nicest person [she also has amazing hair!] We had a great time at a MG signing and got to talk books after. It was so funny because we were like "OH MY GOD, THIS BOOK!" in the teen section and a worker actually told us that there was a promotion going [buy three get one free] but I had no money. Oh the woes of being fourteen.
The second thing I did, [which is probably the most badass thing] is skip school to dye my hair. I am a skipper and I know it's bad but I do it anyway. Since I get decent grades, my attendance record is really surprising. I skip at least once every two weeks [usually periods and not full days] No one goes to school on the last day before spring break so I ditched to dye my hair purple. What do you think?

Lastly, I started bookstagramming! After seeing Jessi from Novel Heartbeat's bookstagram, I decided to make my own. I'm not really professional at the whole picture thing and I don't have a theme but I would really appreciate it if you checked it out! I'm following back people I know. You can find it here.
Review
I got a bunch of eCopies this month, which is great. I have no idea how in the world I'm supposed to read all of them, though. Since I've been on a break, it means I've read like one book. Probably two, but still. Thanks so much to Amazon for approving me for both Angelfall books. Also, I was somehow accepted for the australian/uk version of The DUFF? Alright. I already read and LOVED that one! Review should be up soon.
From Edelweiss, I received the books Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls and Diary of a Haunting.
In physical news, I was able to get a copy of Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon [shown above.] Thanks, Random House! Guys, that book is magical. Full five stars because it's so cute!
Also, Harper sent me an ARC of Emancipated, which I'm dying to read :)
Lastly, S&S sent me a finished copy of The Fire Sermon which I'm reading right now!
Gifted/Won
A family friend gifted me TFioS as part of a religious celebration! I haven't read it yet and to be honest, I was never planning on it but I can't deny that it's pretty. Plus, this shot is because I'm working on a second TFioS song [after the first one broke 4k on YouTube] I'm excited to read it because I did enjoy the movie.I also received ARCs from Sam [mentioned above] because we're borrowing each others'. I got The Witch Hunter and An Ember in the Ashes! I'm excited for both and I can't wait to read them. SCREAM!
How the hell am I supposed to read all these + the ones from Feb. Someone come over and help me finish these, LOL! I love that I've got a workload because to be honest, when it comes to blogging, I wouldn't have it any other way!
Wow, great haul! I've heard wonderful things about Everything, Everything. Good luck reading everything and your hair looks awesome! Happy reading!

Thank you, Michelle! I really enjoyed Everything, Everything.
DeleteEverything Everything! That book sounds so interesting. I have an eARC of it, and so will probs dig into it soon- but dayum that premise. And you gave it 5 stars too! I'm definitely looking forward to reading it now :)
ReplyDeleteYEESSSSS! Read it (:
DeleteAHHH!! You and Sam got to meet each other!! I didn't get to go... *pouts*
ReplyDeleteOoh! So many awesomesauce bookkkkksssssss!!! I got approved for Angelfall, too and I'm DYING to read it!! ;P I NEED to read both Everything, Everything and Emancipated! I'm so curious about EE! Sounds so cool and the cover is just beauuutifulllll!! <3
Enjoy ze books because they seem simply awesome! (Now y'all get to read An Ember in the Ashes and I guess I'll just wait until the release date....)

GIRL COME NEXT TIME! THIS IS ME SENDING YOU A PERSONAL INVITE :P
DeleteEverything, Everything is so cute. like it will attack you with feels!
Both of those ARCs look really good! And The Fault in Our Stars is amazing! The movie was so good too, they really stayed true to the book :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree. I've read PARTS of the book and what I read was very true. I love that they used a bunch of lines from the book!
DeleteYOU ARE THE BEST. And I love your hair. <3 Eek, I hope you like Ember and TWH. I promise, I will finish Everything, Everything soon! Olly is so cute so far. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG SAM?! Plot twist. It's because your name says "youngwriterscafe" HAHA. AND YESSSS! I'm starting Ember now!
DeleteOhh yay for Bookstagram! I am a fan. I wish it would get nice out so I could take my books outside to photograph! I like your hair! I want to dye mine but I keep thinking that I can't pull it off, that I'll do it when I lose some weight, etc. We'll see. As for skipping school... well, I SHOULD say don't do it, but my senior year, my friend and I skipped every Friday for the whole rest of the year after swim season had ended. Though, my parents knew and didn't care at all (like you, my grades were good, and it didn't matter).
ReplyDeleteOh, I really want Everything, Everything! Ohhh and The Witch Hunter and An Ember in the Ashes! They all sound AMAZING. I hear you with the workload, and I agree ;) Hope you are able to get to them, and of course, enjoy them all!
Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight
I think you should dye your hair if you want to and if you think you might back out, do it on a snap decision, so you can't! Every Friday?! I would love to do that but my parents would murder me. Plus, I need like 80% attendance to graduate or something [I just found this out!]
DeleteALL THE BOOKS. I'm going to do my best but *book falls on top of me*
The color looks great with your natural hair color :D It's great you joined Bookstagram, it's fun to share pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel! And Yes, I totally agree (:
DeleteWow, great haul! I also got Witch Hunter and The DUFF and I'm really excited for both. I've heard really conflicting things about Everything Everything, so I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts on it. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteBeatrice @ Book For Thought
I actually wrote the review on my goodreads but it goes up in a long time. XD
DeleteThe DUFF was awesome, IMO! What did you think about it?
Ugh. I've been in a blogging slump, too, and I don't really know how to get out of it. I am also internally freaking out because how am I going to keep on with blogging when I'm trying to keep up with my Camp NaNo writing schedule?!? *hyperventilates* It's so cool that you got to meet a fellow blogger. You lucky duck, you. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG CAMP NANO. I'm SUPPOSED to be doing it but with the way my life is, I think I have to drop out, or at least lower my word count. *hides*
DeleteI have been pretty absent this month too, but I've noticed that taking it easy helps to bring back the love for blogging, so you're on the right track! And yay for meeting a fellow blogger! I live in Asia, and bloggers in this area are rare (much less in my country), so I really have hope of meeting someone I know online, lol. But I'm going to the U.S. for my studies soon, so I haven't lost all hope yet. :D
ReplyDeleteOh you bad girl, you! xD But it was worth it -- your hair looks effin' awesome. I've always wanted to dip-dye my hair in blue, but haven't found the time to do it yet, and doing it at a hairdresser would cost a LOT. I'm still weighing out the pros and cons lol. Student incomes are horrible, am I right? Eeep, welcome to the world of bookstagramming! I have been pretty inactive on my account lately, but I'll follow you once I get onto my phone. Your pictures are gorgeous, btw.
I swear I stared at the cover for Everything, Everything for at least a minute. It's so beautiful I don't know how I hadn't heard of the book before today! Good to know that the content was just as great, too. :) Haha. It's just me, but The Fault in Our Stars is seriously overrated. I liked the story, but it was nothing to boast about. Then again, I'm not really a romance person so I'm probably being biased. Either way, I hope you like it!
Sorry, I would come over and help you gobble up all your books, but I'm drowning in my own tbr pile myself. xD Hoping April will be just as fabulous for you, Nova!
MEGAN YOUR COMMENTS ARE WHAT I LIVE FOR.
Deletenow that I've gotten that off my chest, ASIA IS A COOL PLACE YO. I've been to China and Malaysia and I love it there. Besides a drastic change in the temperature, a lot of people are really nice to me, although everyone tries to speak cantonese/mandarin to me and I have to be awkwardly like "i no speak your language" in their language. It's a struggle.
I used manic panic bleach and dye and it was like 30 bucks overall. Way cheaper than a hairdresser. last time I went, they did a good job but it was 70 so I'm like "nope. nope." The only good thing about a hairdresser is that their dye lasts a LOT longer.
AND BOOKSTAGRAMMING! Let me know on one of my pics who you are and I will spam you there :P
Everything, Everything is also BUMPY [like the letters] and that makes me insanely happy for some reason. I DON'T KNOW MAN. And I totally agree. I really enjoyed the movie but I don't think the book deserves the INSANE praise it got. There are deep messages but the plot is very basic [since it's character driven]
AND LOOK. NOW MY COMMENT IS SO LONG HAHA
I hope you enjoy all of your new books! Loving the hair! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you <333
DeleteOOH SO MANY PRETTY BOOKS!!! I'm glad you liked Everything, Everything. xD I had...a bit of trouble with it, lol, but the ending was pretty much "WAIT, WHAT JUST HAPPENED, HOW COULD WOAH, NO." Which totally made me like it better. xD
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks so nice! YAY PURPLE!! I would never have that kind of courage. It took me like 5 years to get the courage just to get a hair cut haha. What can I say?! I like things to stay the same. xD
I hope you have a good break though and get through the blogger burn out! It's not much fun being inspiration dead. :(
I read your review for Everything, Everything actually. Sorry you didn't like Maddy! But at least you liked Olly [right?]
Delete5 years for a haircut? I like to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone constantly. I would say that it's a lot of fun once you get in the hang of it but people who like things the same are cool too!
It's definitely important to take time off from blogging if you're feeling stressed. Or for anything, really -- lately I've been neglecting Tumblr in favour of fanfiction. And ahaha, I skip school as well; unfortunately it's really hard to skip specific lessons so I just have to pick the days with the least nice classes. Your hair is gorgeous -- and I can definitely tell how much you like purple, judging from that and your (absolutely fantastic) design.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog and giving me a chance to find yours -- I just followed and am eagerly anticipating your amazing posts :D
Fanfiction is SUPPOSED to be calming but then you meet an amazing author who attacks you with the feels of your fave characters haha.
Deleteactually, my favorite color is blue but I felt like purple would be prettier with the lights on the blog header! my hair USED to be blue :P
And AWWWW <333
Woah, cool hair! Lol, as a homeschooler, ditching would be kinda hard...
ReplyDeleteSo many cool books! I love the cover for Everything, Everything. It's gorgeous.
Homeschooling sounds like an interesting time, to be honest. Do you like it? OH. DO YOU HAVE ANY CONCEPTIONS ON PUBLIC SCHOOL *laughs* I would love to hear them!
DeleteI am absolutely willing to help finish The Witch Hunter and An Ember in the Ashes for you ;) It was impossible for us to skip in high school because one unexcused absence meant you lost your one exam exemption, and I was never willing to give that up. Now that I'm in college, I still can't bring myself to skip out of fear of missing something important, but I think that's about to change...I'm getting real tired of wasting my time in a class I definitely don't need to attend to get an A.
ReplyDelete*zaps you to Canada so you can take my book workload!*
DeleteAND WHAT. WHAT. What about sickness or just waking up late? Sounds like a though place :/ And for college, I understand. I'm in grade 9 so I'm planning on making the most of the year because once I get to grade 11, I'll be a completely different person.
I love your hair! It looks fabulous. :P I'm a skipper, too. My grades are good so my parents don't care. I, however, skip anywhere for 1 to 3 times per week. Usually only periods, but I only have 2 classes a day so it's a bit sad. I'm also a senior, though, and have a bit of a senioritis problem. ;D
ReplyDeleteUgh I want Everything, Everything so bad because I've heard a lot about it! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :P
My school says that I need an 80% attendance record, which is like skipping once a week. If my parents knew this, they'd be like what the heck? Because school is important to them XD
DeleteI love seniors! They helped me SO MUCH during the first month of school. I have no idea how I would've gotten through it without them.
LOL at you ditching. You crack me up. Love the purple hair tho! Totally worth it. :D
ReplyDeleteOhhh I can't wait to see what you think of Everything Everything! I'm glad you loved it; I'm really looking forward to it. :)
Everything, Everything was SO CUTE. Like FEELS INDUCING. It has parts that are told in IMs and I can't even deal with how much I FLAILED.
DeleteNOVA. YOU BLOGGER BURNOUT??????? WHAT HAPPENED TO ME THEN?? I must have crashed and burned and gone to the lazurus' pit to burn and I've only just made it back LOL
ReplyDeleteHair is fab. I luv it.
Ember sounds delicious. Can't wait to hear what you think!
I LIVE FOR BURNOUT. I do everything 300% until I don't have anymore percent to give. It's crazy. Like I'm doing bookstagram and maybe in three months, I'll have a decent amount of followers and I'll just... quit. It's terrifying that I do this and my dating life, when it happens, will be chaotic. Lookie here, we've got a resident taylor swift
DeleteYOU ARE AMAZING SHUSH *pets*
So sorry for blogger burn-out. I hope you're feeling better now. It happens to us all...I've not been able to figure out a way to avoid it. I had a touch of it myself in March but feeling a tad more motivated this last week. Love the hair!! And Ember :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm doing so good right now! I've read like 4 books in April already and that's making me feel AMAZING. I hope you feel more motivated as April continues <3
