"All About That Bass"
CHORUS
Because you know
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass
Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two
But I can shake it, shake it
Like I'm supposed to do
'Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase
And all the right junk in all the right places
I see the magazine workin' that Photoshop
We know that shit ain't real
C'mon now, make it stop
If you got beauty, beauty, just raise 'em up
'Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top
Yeah, my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night."
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along
CHORUS
I'm bringing booty back
Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches that
No I'm just playing. I know you think you're fat
But I'm here to tell ya
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top
Yeah my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night."
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along
CHORUS 3x
First thought: um... okay?
To those people who are like "she's so popular," the only reason she got so many views is because at one point, the All About That Bass commercial was played EVERYWHERE. I feel like they literally payed YouTube a crapload of money just to advertise this song. And to be honest, it isn't even good. It's pretty painful. (I listened to the song when it had 1million views.)
I really disliked this song. I've heard all the things about how it's offensive to skinny people and um... okay? I don't really have an opinion to that. I don't think what she did was right, but after being made fun of for having double digit size, I can't bring myself to care as much as some people. (However, it's true, two wrongs don't make a right. Trainor should realize that making fun of a set of people doesn't empower another.)
But aside from that, this was terrible. It's got a horrible tune. I can't stand it because it's just so ick. It's like half rap (blech) and then the chorus is so strange. Trainor's voice changes and not for the better.
Maybe it's opinion, but I cannot stand to listen to this song, meaning or not. It's just not something that I consider "music."
