I heard about this song on a chance because I listen to Pentatonix and they did a cover with Lindsey. Then one of the "suggested" videos was this one and I like the book, Shatter Me, so I kind of thought "maybe this one'll be as good as the book!" and it was. OMG, this song is so freaking amazing.
I LOVE Lzzy Hale's voice. I love Halestorm and how much emotion there is in the way she's singing. I wish there were more lyrics, but I have to remember that this is Lindsey's song, so violin is the main focus, although the singing adds such a great feel.
I also really love Lindsey Stirling. She's got such awesome talent and creativity. Combining violin with bass to make a really lively song that stays true to her instrument can be difficult, but she maintains the balance perfectly. The violin dramatizes the song and emotion to a much deeper level. It's just so beautiful and I could focus on both the instrument and voice, which is something I have a hard time doing on the occasion. Plus, Lindsey looks so badass with her intricate violin notes at such a high speed during the violin drop. (Note: I don't play violin, if there's a name for what I'm talking about.)
Not to mention that the video is steampunk and epic. I really love the effects that are used. It's a music video, but it looks like a work of art, visually which does so much to the music in terms of effects. I'm not even kidding, it's such a beautiful video that looks like a painting. Ugh, so amazing!

"Shatter Me"
(feat. Lzzy Hale)
[Verse 1: Lzzy Hale]
I pirouette in the dark
I see the stars through me
Tired mechanical heart
Beats 'til the song disappears
[Chorus:]
Somebody shine a light
I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!
[Violin Drop]
Shatter me!
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!
[Verse 2:]
If only the clockwork could speak
I wouldn't be so alone
We'd burn every magnet and spring
And spiral into the unknown
[Chorus]
[Violin Drop]
[Bridge:]
If I break the glass, then I'll have to fly
There's no one to catch me if I take a dive
I'm scared of change, and the days stay the same
The world is spinning but only in gray
If I break the glass, then I'll have to fly
There's no one to catch me if I take a dive
I'm scared of change, and the days stay the same
The world is spinning but only in gray
(Only...)
[Chorus]
[Violin Drop:]
Me...!
Shatter me!
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!
