Instagram vs. Twitter: An Epic Battle

with No comments
Me looking at twitter.

I've recently made a decision to join the Instagram community. And like the way I do anything, Instagram was no exception. The way I operate is actually a very bad idea. When I start something, I start it enthusiastically and by however time, the love has gone. Instagram has got me far (I think it's far) with 4 thousand followers. To me, that's a lot. However, in the epic battle, I think that twitter wins.

I use twitter and instagram for very different reasons.

Twitter is my way to connect to authors and other bloggers. It's also for idle conversation and twitter parties, which I love very much. Twitter only has 1.6 thousand followers, but because of the reason I use twitter, I don't really care how many followers I have.
Instagram, however, is like the opposite. The reason I have Instagram is for a fandom account. I post two second edits that people seem to praise over (okay?) and do shoutouts to get followers. It isn't something I really take too seriously, but I like being able to have 4 thousand followers if I ever need help or friends.

When I started using it, I decided that it was VERY different from Twitter. And that's why I prefer twitter.

Instagram is full of teenagers and however-old other people. I wasn't aware that people were going to be mean and nasty. After all, I've only really known twitter and everyone I follow is decent. If they weren't, I wouldn't have followed them (duh...) When I first started Instagram, people ignored me because I only had like 50 followers. I didn't realize that it would be so superficial, that people would only be interested in interacting with me if it were 50 thousand. It was so superficial that I gave up for some time.
After a while, I came back to it and I regret what I did a little bit. I decided to become just like everyone else which is how i achieved four thousand. The only reason I'm still on instagram is because of the friends I've made.

Twitter will still be the one true home for me, but Instagram is a place I can go where I know someone will be there to DM me and talk. People on Instagram are more around my age but that doesn't necessarily have benefits (drama drama dramaaaa!)

So what's your favorite social media platform, if you have one? Are there platforms that you just can't stand? (I can't stand the layout of Facebook). Let me know :D
