I feel like authors deserve so much from the readers. I believe that authors are people who really connect with us. It was actually an author who I "sorta" owe my life to. Authors and their words make us feel and they can help us.
In this event, I want to get to know the authors. I’d like to get interviews or blog posts about THEM in connection to their book. Who is the mind behind each author?
For each post, I leave links to connect with the author. Please take the time to use one of those links and leave a message for each author, if you can. It can be towards the book or it can be something as easy as “I love the post you wrote on Out of Time! <33”
Nil Nil Nil Nil Nil Nil Nil Nil! That cover is so gorgeous and I was so in love with both the original and the redesign! Please welcome Lynne Matson, who did so much for me and in the end, I got an ARC! Woot woot!
Three Truths and a Lie - Lynne Matson
Nova, thank you so much for having me! I was super stoked when you
asked me to be part of your March author event. And then you asked me to
give readers a little clue about the author behind the book, NIL. *cue
panic*
So…I thought I’d give you three truths and a lie. But before I start, I thought I’d tell you a little about my debut novel, NIL, and a little about me. Maybe that will help you figure out which one is the lie!
NIL is my debut novel, about teens trapped on a mysterious island where they have a year to escape or die.
Short version? Think Survivor meets LOST with dashes of THE MAZE RUNNER and lots of feels.
The long version?

On the island of Nil, the rules are set. You have one year. Exactly 365 days--to escape, or you die.
Seventeen-year-old Charley doesn’t know the rules. She doesn’t even know where she is. The last thing Charley remembers is blacking out in an Atlanta parking lot, and when she wakes up, she’s naked in an empty rock field.
Lost and alone, Charley hunts for a way out. She discovers desolate beaches and human remains, but no sign of civilization--until she meets Thad, the gorgeous leader of a clan of teenage refugees. Soon Charley learns that leaving the island is harder than she thought . . . and so is falling in love. With Thad’s time running out, Charley realizes that to save their future, Charley must first save him. And on an island rife with hidden dangers, their greatest threat is time.
So that’s NIL! It was inspired during a trip to Hawaii and then grew from there.
As for me, I’m a mom of 4 boys who I love more than life. I’m pretty boss with a Nerf gun, thanks to my boys, and have recently mastered the Rainbow Loom. Before I was an author, I was an attorney. (Being an author is WAY more fun!:D) I also have a *slight* iTunes addiction, a huge sweet tooth (cookies are my kryptonite), and of course, I LOVE BOOKS.
So that’s me! Ready for Three Truths and a Lie? Here you go!
1. My first job out of college was a salesperson at The Gap, where I learning to fold t-shirts using a clipboard. Seriously--a CLIPBOARD.
2. I read the Twilight series in three days.
3. I’ve gone zip lining in Hawaii, paintballing in Florida, scuba diving in Grand Cayman and skydiving in North Carolina.
4. I’m absurdly terrified of clowns.
Thanks for having me, Nova! And happy reading, y'all!

Thanks again Nova!

LynneIs it bad that she totally didn't tell me which one is the lie? Oops! I guess my guess is as good as yours! And you know what? I think #2 is a lie. It took me ages to read the entire twilight saga. Half because it's so long and the other half because I didn't really enjoy it. But hey, I want to see what you guys think too!

I can't make up my mind. My brain keeps thinking that the lie could be either #1, #2, or #4...Why? Well, I've never heard of someone learning to fold shirts with a clipboard...and the twilight sage took me about two weeks to finish. I don't think clowns are that scary unless you watch a horror movie like "It" then yeah, they're scary :p I know #3 is right because Lynne said she went to Hawaii :D Well, in the end, if I had to guess I totally agree with you Nova. #2 seems impossible...unless you never sleep ^_^
ReplyDeleteI think number 4# is a lie! :D
