3xA MA: Kristi Helvig

with 6 comments

I feel like authors deserve so much from the readers. I believe that authors are people who really connect with us. It was actually an author who I "sorta" owe my life to. Authors and their words make us feel and they can help us.
In this event, I want to get to know the authors. I’d like to get interviews or blog posts about THEM in connection to their book. Who is the mind behind each author?

For each post, I leave links to connect with the author. Please take the time to use one of those links and leave a message for each author, if you can. It can be towards the book or it can be something as easy as “I love the post you wrote on Out of Time! <33”

Kristi Helvig is also a member of the YA Valentines! I <3 them lots! And her book, Burn Out is definitely something to be checked out! It's one that I wish more people talked about! Woot woot!

Five Random Facts About Kristi Helvig

1. My fave candy is Cadbury Creme Eggs. I just spotted my first one among the Valentine candy at Target and got insanely excited.

2. I’m not a morning person. My hubby leaves a cup of coffee next to my sink every morning before he goes to work because he knows I’m a mess without it. And yes, this is one of many reasons why I think he’s the best.

3. I’m a preschool drop out. I went back to school for first grade, but I still remember how much I hated preschool. I let my now 6-yo drop out of preschool too, because she also hated it.

4. My original career goal was an NFL quarterback. Though I was the only girl on the neighborhood team, they wouldn’t let girls play at my school, so I became a cheerleader instead.

5. The first ‘novel’ I wrote was basically Nancy Drew fan fiction that I did on a cursive typewriter when I was in elementary school. Needless to say, I’m now SO grateful for laptops.

Thanks so much for having me on the blog, Nova! :)

No way, but I wrote a Nancy Drew fanfic when I was in the first grade! OMG! And in mine, I was a character. I replaced the character of Nancy's best friend! Eep! TWINZIES! And I don't have enough skill, flexibility or motivation to do something like cheerleading.

Enter the giveaway below! Thanks for checking out my blog and remember:
Be kind to one another. - Ellen

I remember reading Nancy Drew books when I was younger, but I was more of a reader back then so I didn't think of making my own fanfic. But that would have been awesome! :D

I'm really looking forward to reading Burn Out. In response to random fact number one I can't stand the taste of Cadbury easter eggs but I do have a chihuahua named Cadberry.

CADBURY EGGS=my favorite part of Easter, no joking. Also, "coughs" I have yet to read a Nancy Drew book. I KNOW I KNOW. I wasn't a big reader when I was little ;)
