My Thoughts

I just want to say that I listened to this song before it blew up on the radio. This meaning that I had a strong opinions on this song even before my friends knew it. (And I kind of predicted that it would get mainstream - this and Bleeding Out)

I don't know what I like about this song specifically, but I like it. I think the lyrics catch me a lot. Its a take on greed and materialism and how no matter what we do, we've each got a demon inside of us that we're trying to contain. It's a demon that whispers our innermost desires and how it will never be happy. (The video shows that with the multiple characters that are flashed in. Example, the first girl wants her loved one back from the dead and the second person isn't happy with their appearance.)

I really like the tune; it's catchy, yet doesn't distract us from the actual words and message this song is trying to convey. Of course, now that it's mainstream, there will probably be a bunch of people who don't even think when they listen to the words.
