I actually received an ARC of this book but I didn't want it. My top choice was something else and S&S sent me this instead. What happened was I didn't want to read it so I didn't... WORST MISTAKE EVER. I honestly regret not reading this when it was still an ARC. I regret judging it because I didn't recognize the author; it's honestly REALLY good.
This is the story of a girl named Anna who is the suspected murderer of her best friend, Elise. What I just love about this book is the way it's written. It's written like a small hole that is getting bigger as we go farther. We start with minimal information and go backwards, forwards and time shifting to get the information. The majority of the rating is in the brilliant way this book is arranged. It's arranged in present and then jumping to school, moving to starting spring break and somehow, every little chapter NOT in the present has a valuable piece of information later on.

Paradise quickly gets gruesome in this thrilling page-turner with a plot that’s ripped from the headlines and a twist that defies the imagination.
It’s Spring Break of senior year. Anna, her boyfriend Tate, her best friend Elise, and a few other close friends are off to a debaucherous trip to Aruba that promises to be the time of their lives.
But when Elise is found brutally murdered, Anna finds herself trapped in a country not her own, fighting against vile and contemptuous accusations. As Anna sets out to find her friend’s killer, she discovers harsh revelations about her friendships, the slippery nature of truth, and the ache of young love.
Awaiting the judge’s decree, it becomes clear to Anna that everyone around her thinks she is not only guilty, but also dangerous. And when the whole story comes out, reality is more shocking than anyone ever imagined...
This book gives a taste of what REALLY happens if you're accused of murder. It's a ...refreshing dose of reality that will benefit the genre of YA. - Nova @ Musings of a Blogder
